This issue of Executive IT-report contains some interesting articles around Blockchain tech/Distributed ledger tech. and how it (in the future) probably will be closely intertwined with AI and the need for clean, transparent data. Blockchain technology promises an error-free environment where security is obsolete, since the technology was created with security as the prime function, and all other benefits are add-ons. Like living in a fort during peacetime. The fort IS the house, and no matter what happens, or what your needs may be, you still live in a fort.
Would be too mainstream to answer: YOU, but keep it in mind. Speaking about digital is the same as speaking of God, fossil fuel or vegetarian food, it takes in consideration that there is a opposite somewhere that drives the narrative, that has to be taken into consideration… Digital is blue, and analogue is red if you will, without any deeper meaning…;-)
Furthermore, MFA, Multi Factor Authentication, such as the Swedish “Bank ID” further strengthens security in all areas, such as “entrusted” digital mails such as: Digimail, Kivra, E-boks etc. Essentially, keeping a digital ID (which will be further strengthened through distributed ledger tech.) will be absolutely necessary to access everyday functions such as: banks, governmentservices, mail etc.
This will create an even greater digital need to know level for the common citizen. Of course, we already are a digital species, if we only count us westerners…
When you visit Systembolaget, they don’t ask for your ID, they ask for your drivers license, when you pick up packages sent by post, you’re asked to identify by drivers license. That said, the most common functions in society assumes that you’re at level with the least common denominator standard… So, when blockchain (which is 100% digital) hits the fan full speed, there will be an analogue underclass created overnight…
So, where am I going with this digital socialistic thesis? Nowhere political… I’m giving you business opportunity…
The analogue underclass will need service as well as the digital übermench will need tools to be digital, so who’s going to provide the analogue services? Who’s going to adapt and translate the digital tools into analogue?
Digitalization will, when it reaches it’s peak be forced to create an analogue branch alike how digital is perceived/treated in todays analogue reality… So keep a small room for analogue expenses in your digital budget…
