If it weren’t for MEN, there were no women (funny?)

When cars are named, why do they always get typically feminine names? Because when they get too old your supposed to trade them for something younger… Hahaha, funny! In a locker-room way… Right Donald…

Why do men sometimes fail when attempting everyday duties? Because they didn’t hear you when you instructed them… Equally funny, in a whatever is the opposite of locker-room way…

Those jokes are apparently made to be funny, in an everyday, I didn’t come up with anything better kind of way. The risk of someone taking serious offence is quite small, but there’s still a small risk…

They would produce laughs in their own rights, in their own isolated environment. But exposed to an open room such as what your reading right now, or a public marketing campaign, they could fall dead and give the author or brand an unforgiving minus on the likeable-account (if it weren’t for the context of-course). Like being a cannibal at a Spanish tomato-garden, or a vegetarian at an Italian buffet, moment 22.

Knowing the difference between gender-bias and sexism is really hard, especially since there’s no consensus in the definition of either word, nor is there consensus in who’s listening, but what’s for sure is that anyone who’s listening got access to some kind of social network, where they themselves run the role as editors in chief... Same artist, different audience… Same social-media comment, different people interpreting…

Not knowing, or trying too hard when forming communication that touches the subject of “gender’’ could backlash significantly, so think before you act, or think and don’t act…

Gender and social media are words that currently are undergoing major transformations in how we depict and use them. I hope that February Executive e-report will inspire you to use them wisely, while not forgetting that it’s seldom “what you’re saying’’, but “how you’re saying it’’ that matters the most.
